Making sense of Medications
Medications, and even some foods, can heighten sensitivity to ultraviolet light. The most common reaction is “photosensitivity” and causes the skin to sunburn more quickly than usual.
Some birth control products can cause a pregnancy mask. Some colognes and perfumes can cause sensitivity and rashes also. Check the LIST
Your pharmacist can tell you if a prescription is photosensitizing. The operators at this Smart Tan salon have a list of medications that they can refer to, also. Since everyone’s body is different, the degree of increased sensitivity will vary, but it is best to use caution and adjust exposure time .
Remember to let the salon operator know if you are taking any new medications.
