Vitamin D Sun Is life
Our bodies rely mostly on the sun for Vitamin D. Unlike the other vitamins, D isn’t found much in foods, unless it is specially added as in D-fortified milk.
Some medical experts today believe that Vitamin D deficiency is a widespread but unrecognized phenomenon.
At the same time, scientists are also now linking Vitamin D to positive effects on cancer, hypertension, and diabetes in addition to a variety of bone disorders such as osteoporosis.
The older that we get, the less efficient our bodies are at making Vitamin D. And because melanin is a natural sunscreen, darker skinned persons need a significantly longer exposure to make sufficient Vitamin D. Persons in northern climates have an even greater chance of being Vitamin D deficient.
